The bad: Costs as much as a PS3; front-panel controls are located on top of player; PC streaming setup is difficult.
The bottom line: The Samsung BD-P3600 is a huge leap ahead for standalone Blu-ray players, with blazing-fast operational speed, tons of features, and excellent image quality.

The good: This machine let's you record subtitles (closed captions) on hard drive as well as Blu-ray discs! It is a second generation recorder, so no need to fear teething problems.
The bad: Pricey, the closed captions can only be recorded on hard drive and Blu-ray, not on DVD.
The bottom line: An absolutely fantastic machine. It has 2 HD tuners, so you can record two programs, while watching a previous recording. It records on HDD, Blu-ray discs and all DVD's you can think off, including DVD RAM! It is really user friendly.
Panasonic DMP-BDT300 Blu-ray Player
The good: Nicely priced, loaded with features, excellent picture and sound. Dual HDMI!!!
The bad: Light weight, inexpensive build quality. SD card not included.
The bottom line: While it's not built to high end specs, it is more than adequate on many, many levels. Has excellent video processing, internet capable, included WiFi and much more. It's also, operationally, very fast.

The bottom line: The LG LHB535 offers an outstanding feature set for its price, but its sound quality is only passable.

The good: Integrated Twin HD Digital Tuner, Record Two Programs Simultaneously, Playback and Archive to Blu-ray Disc in 1920 x 1080p, HD Optimiser with Digital Noise Reduction for Digital Broadcasting, HD Networking with SD Memory Card (AVCHD movie and JPEG [HD]).
The bad: Pricey, you cannot record directly to a bd-re/bd-r or dvd-r/+r,+rw,-rw recordings must happen primarily on the HDD but it does'nt matter the quality is outstanding also you cannot record a High Definition signal from an External source so HD recordings can only be made from HD broadcasts.
The bottom line: A bluray player / recorder/ PVR w/500Gb HDD an almost tivo with twin HD tuner all in one unit. Overall an outstanding recorder there is no losslessness in picture quality even recording from inputs such as a vcr also a recording made by another disc recorder.
