The good: Unique design; can output Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio in raw bitstream format; excellent 1080p24 video quality.

  Sharp BD-HP21A Blu-ray player
The latest Sharp Blu-ray player is a clone of its predecessor in styling, but comes with upgraded surround sound support out-of-the-box. The BD-HP21A can now output Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD soundtracks for external decoding using new-generation A/V receivers. What it still lacks is the BD-Live compatibility to download and playback Web content for in-movie advanced interactive features.

The bottom line:  The highly regarded OPPO BDP-83 Universal Blu-ray Player remains at the top of the list. Its exceptional picture and superb audio performance continues to garner accolades from users and home theater magazine reviews. It has taken the industry by storm by setting a new benchmark in price/performance ratio.
The bad:   One compliant of the BDP-83 is it's power cord. It uses a 2-pin connector resembling an IEC connector found on many pro and prosumer equipment, however there is not sufficient holding tension

The good:  5.1 home theater system; built-in Blu-ray player; best-in-class sound quality; excellent image quality on Blu-ray movies; Netflix and Pandora streaming; fast Blu-ray load times; iPod dock included; attractive exterior design.
The bad:  Design has some usability issues; no video inputs; no automatic speaker calibration; PC streaming feature is more trouble than it's worth.
The bottom line:   Samsung's HT-BD1250 home theater system has built-in Blu-ray, streaming media from Netflix and Pandora, and excellent audio and video quality, making it our top budget Blu-ray all-in-one system.
