Many of us became uncomfortable when movies on VHS became phased out by DVD. Yet we adjusted to this new technology without any problems. "We came to enjoy all the features of DVD that VHS didn't have. Well , Now DVD has competition with Blu-Ray.
You may have already noticed Blu-Ray disc's, players and recorders at your local stores. Amazon, Walmart, Tiger Direct and Buy.com to name a few, carry all of the best new releases. Most video stores now carry the new movie releases on Blu-Ray too. Since most consumers do not have Blu-Ray capability yet, you should have no trouble finding the best new Blu-Ray movies, players, and other products when they are offered.

The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc.
Consumers may have no choice but to buy the Blu-Ray disc's and or movies within the next year or two. They will begin phasing out the DVD just like they did with the VHS and our players will sit around collecting dust as before. Right now Blu-Ray movies are just a couple of dollars more than a DVD. Their prices expect to come down as the DVD become more obsolete.
Blu-ray is currently supported by about 200 of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer, recording media, video game and music companies. The format also has support from all Hollywood studios and countless smaller studios as a successor to today's DVD format.
